Dr. Dattatreyudu Nori, MD, MBBS
Dr. Dattatreyudu Nori, M.D., FACR, FACRO, is Professor and Executive Vice Chairman of the Radiation Oncology Department at The NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City. In addition, Dr. Nori is Chairman of Radiation Oncology at The New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens. He is also the Director of the Cancer Center at the New York Hospital Queens, in which capacity he heads that organization's cancer program. Dr. Nori completed his undergraduate training at Kurnool Medical College and received his postgraduate medical degree from Osmania University in India. He then joined the sta of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, where he became Chief of the Brachytherapy Service before accepting the current position as Chairman of Radiation Oncology at Cornell.
Dr. Nori has an international reputation as a pioneer and authority in radiation oncology and brachytherapy. He was instrumental in introducing the current techniques and clinical concepts of High Dose Rate Brachytherapy for gynecological, genitourinary, thoracic and head and neck tumors. His research also included e"orts to improve the outcome for patients with prostate cancer, lung cancer, pancreas, breast and other cancers. Dr. Nori has served as principal investigator for numerous clinical trails sponsored by the National Cancer Institute and has received several national and international awards for his contributions to cancer research, including the Distinguished Alumnus Award of the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center Alumni Society. He has been called "a recognized leader in his specialty" by the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine.
Dr. Nori served in the American Cancer Society in various positions including Chairmanship of the Professional Education Committee. The American Cancer Society honored him with their highest prestigious award "Tribute to Life" for his accomplishments in cancer research. Dr. Nori has trained more than 150 residents and fellows, some of whom have become Chairman of academic departments in the U.S. Dr. Nori is a Fellow in the American College of Radiology, Fellow in the American College of Radiation Oncology, past President of the American Brachytherapy Society, and a current member of several national and international oncology societies. He is also an Associate Editor of three oncology journals as well as a Visiting Professor to many universities in the U.S. and abroad. He has published three books and more than 200 scientific articles. He has given several prestigious lectureships such as the Probstein Oncology lecture at Washington University in St. Louis. He received a Gold Medal from the Indian Medical Association for his contributions to cancer research and training Indian physicians in the U.S. He also received the Excelcier Award from the Network of Indian Professionals in the United States and many Indian Organizations in the U.S., such as the Nargis Dutt Cancer Foundation and the Federation of Indian Associations have honored him for his contributions to cancer research.
Dr. Nori has provided technical and scientific help to many cancer centers in India, South America and Israel, and he is also the Founding Member of the Indo-American Cancer Institute for Women and Children, a state-of-the art 250 bed cancer and research institute located in Hyderabad, A.P. which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India in 2001. In addition, Dr. Nori is a Consultant to the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency, advising on the formulation of guidelines for the treatment of cancer in developing countries. In a recent survey conducted by the reputable Castle Connolly Medical Ltd and published in America's Top Doctors, Dr. Nori has been selected as one of the top doctors in America. In this survey, more than 250,000 leading doctors were asked to name the nation's best physicians in various specialties - those "to whom you would send members of your family". The most important criterion for physician selection was excellence in patient care, education, residency, board certification, fellowships, professional reputation, research, hospital affiliation, academic stature and medical school faculty appointment and experience. In a more recent survey done by the most popular woman's magazine in the U.S., The Ladies' Home Journal, Dr. Nori has also been named as one of the top doctors in America for the treatment of cancers in women. Dr. Nori was also honored by Senator Jon Corgine, Chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Committee and by Council Speaker Gi"ord Miller for his contributions to cancer research. Dr. Nori continues to be active as clinician, teacher, researcher and administrator of two large Radiation Oncology Departments and the Cancer Center at New York Hospital Queens.

Events To Be Always Remembered
- ⦿ Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Dr.Manmohan Singhji has visited Pravara Complex on the occasion of the publication of Late. Dr.Dhananjayrao Gadgil’s Postal Stamp and the Farmers Rally on the 8th Feb.2008. It was the most unique and historic movement in the life of all farmers of the country. During the visit Hon’ble Prime Minister was highly impressed by witnessing the various developmental activities introduced for the comprehensive rural development by Pravara Agro industrial, Educational and Cultural Complex. The very visit of the P.M. will be always remembered by the farmers of this country, because in this public rally Hon’ble P.M. positively given indications regarding waiving of the loan of farmers. In the presence of more than lacks of farmers.
- ⦿ It was the highly delighted and auspicious occasion to the farmers, land less labourers youth and women of Ahilyanagar District when the most dynamic and visionary President of the Congress Party Hon’ble Soniyaji Gandhi paid visit at 19th June 2008 to Pravaranagar, Ahilyanagar (M.S.) on the occasion of Women’s & Farmers Rally. In this mamoth Rally Hon’ble Soniyaji Gandhi appreciated the efforts and vision of the leadership in introducing welfare schemes, educational institutions, and many other activities helpful to the rural people to make there life more meaning full.
- ⦿ Shirdi is not only the holy place and the symbol of the national integrity but also known as the strong-hold of the congress party. All the Local Bodies, Co-op.Society’s and the Institutions are under the rule and the governance of the Congress Party in Shirdi Constituency. Keeping this view in mind the M.P.C.C. decided and entrusted the responsibility of organizing and initiating “Janjagran Vikas yatra” from Shirdi Constituency from 19th Nov.2008. Thousands of party workers, leaders and officials were participated in this Yatra which has created enthusiasm among the Aam Adami.

Hon’ble Prof. (Dr.) Pandurang Gaikwad, M. Pharm, Ph.D., serves as the Secretary General (Officiating) and Director General of the Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation, Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra, India. A dynamic leader, visionary administrator, and devoted academician, Dr. Gaikwad has been a guiding force in shaping the growth, discipline, and excellence of the Foundation’s diverse educational and healthcare institutions.
He is member of Board of Studies (BOS), Pharmacology, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. He is Inspector Pharmacy Council of India.
He is Awarded Degree of Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Biotechnology with “A” Grade in August, 2007 from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur (A.P.) and Awarded Ph.D. in January, 2011, from Nagarjuna University, Guntur (A.P.).
With a strong academic background in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a distinguished career in teaching and administration, Dr. Gaikwad has contributed immensely to the advancement of higher education in Maharashtra. His leadership is marked by dedication, humility, and a commitment to upholding the legacy and values of Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil, the great pioneer of rural education and cooperative development.

Commissioned in the Armed Forces Medical Services on 22nd Jan 1967 as Lieutenant & reached the highest rank of Lieutenant General & retired after completing 38 years of service. During the service in the Armed Forces, he has held various prestigious professional, administrative and academic appointments as Director (Operations), Director (Standardization), Director (Quality assurance), and has been Director of various multispecialty & Super Specialty Hospitals. He has commanded army Medical Corps center & College & conducted training of Medical Officers, Dental Officers, Nursing Officers & various Para-medical staff.
During the service he was awarded Ati Vishishta Seva Medal (AVSM) & Vishishta Seva Medal (VSM) by Hon’ble President of India. Since retirement, he had served as Director General of Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation's Medical College and Allied Disciplines from June 2005. As Director General, he was instrumental in starting Medical College, Physiotherapy College, Nursing College, Nursing Institute & Post Graduate courses in various Medical disciplines.
He had a tenure of “Vice-Chancellor” of Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Loni. Presently he is “Academic Advisor” of Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation, Ahilyanagar consisting of College of Engineering, College of Pharmacy, Institute of Business Management, Industrial Training Institute in addition to Institutes of Medical & Allied Disciplines.

Prof. (Dr.) Abhijit Diwate, MPTh, Ph.D., is an accomplished academician, administrator, and healthcare professional whose leadership continues to shape the future of medical and allied health education. As the Director (Medical) of the Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation (DVVPF), Ahilyanagar, he exemplifies excellence, innovation, and commitment to quality healthcare and education.
With specialization in Cardiovascular and Respiratory Sciences, Dr. Diwate has built an impressive academic career grounded in clinical expertise, research excellence, and student mentorship. He serves as Professor and Head, Department of Cardiovascular and Respiratory Sciences, College of Physiotherapy, where he has played a pivotal role in advancing physiotherapy education and fostering a culture of evidence-based practice and research.
As Director (Medical), Dr. Diwate provides strategic leadership to the Foundation’s medical and allied health institutions, ensuring the highest standards of academic quality, patient care, and institutional governance. His progressive approach has strengthened interdisciplinary collaboration, encouraged innovation in teaching and learning, and promoted a research-driven academic environment. Beyond academics and administration, Dr. Diwate serves as the Project Director of the District Disability Rehabilitation Centre (DDRC), Ahilyanagar, an initiative of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. Under his leadership, the Centre has expanded access to comprehensive rehabilitation services, significantly improving the quality of life for persons with disabilities. His dedication to rehabilitation and inclusive healthcare reflects his deep commitment to social welfare and community service.
Dr. Diwate also contributes significantly to healthcare education policy and curriculum development through his role as a Member of the Board of Studies at the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik, and D.
